The Festive Film and Singing Ventures of Lady Gabriella Kingston

Lady Gabriella Kingston, also known as Ella Windsor, has recently shared her excitement about the upcoming release of a special film on Christmas Eve. This esteemed royal, who is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, has lent her voice to a new animated live-action film called “The Adventures of Sleepy The Magical Bear: The Movie.” In an interview with HELLO!, Ella discussed her involvement in the film, her anticipation for her younger family members to watch it, and her festive plans for the holiday season.

Ella expressed her enthusiasm for being part of “The Adventures of Sleepy The Magical Bear: The Movie,” which was created by a dedicated team of 900 volunteers. She plays the character of Brambles the Badger in this delightful children’s story. The film aims to raise funds for NHS Charities Together, a great cause that Ella deeply admires. The royal highlighted the exceptional efforts of the NHS during the pandemic, acknowledging the sacrifices made by healthcare workers who often couldn’t even see their own families. Ella’s participation in the film allows her to combine her love for animals, children’s stories, and charitable initiatives.

Amid the joyful anticipation of the film’s release, Ella revealed that her family has come together for some festive gatherings. As a member of the royal family, Ella cherishes these moments of togetherness, shared laughter, and celebration. These gatherings will undoubtedly be made even more special by the screening of the film. Ella mentioned that she will enthusiastically show it to the younger members of her family, predicting their fascination with the magical animals like Snorkel, the pink elephant.

Due to the challenges posed by the pandemic lockdown, the live-action footage for the film was filmed using mobile phones by the main cast members. They utilized green screens in their homes and received direction via Zoom. Writer and director D. M. Rivers created this unique film, which was released on Christmas Day on Sleepy’s YouTube channel. The primary objective behind the film was to raise money for the NHS, inspired by Rivers’ 16 books about the adventures of Sleepy The Magical Bear. Ella’s contribution as Brambles the Badger adds a touch of her talent to this meaningful project.

In addition to voicing Brambles the Badger, Ella had the honor of contributing a song to the film. She explained that the writer and director, DM Rivers, discovered her musical talent and requested a song for an additional jazz scene created by the film’s animators. Sleepy, the magical bear, has his own band called Sleepy & The Sleepettes, and Ella’s song, “Meridians,” performed by Jazzy the purple cat, features in the film. Ella’s passion for music has been a significant part of her life, and she expressed her desire to participate in more music collaborations in the future.

Ella shared that while she had always loved music, her singing journey began later in life. She became involved with a music charity called Playing for Change, where she met her producer, Enzo. Together, they have been developing songs and releasing music to raise awareness for the PFC Foundation. As a writer, Ella starts with lyrics and then follows her musical instincts to create melodies. She added that though she hasn’t received much formal coaching, she plans to invest more time into developing her singing skills. Singing brings her immense joy, and she even performed a song at her wedding to Thomas Kingston in 2019, despite being slightly nervous.

A Remarkable Journey

Lady Gabriella Kingston’s involvement in “The Adventures of Sleepy The Magical Bear: The Movie” marks another milestone in her remarkable journey. Her love for charitable causes, passion for music, and appreciation for family gatherings shine through her engagement with this unique film. As Ella eagerly awaits the film’s release, audiences everywhere can look forward to experiencing the magic brought to life by the collaboration of the dedicated cast and crew, all working voluntarily to support the NHS.
