Jonathan Majors is currently facing serious accusations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In a recent lawsuit filed by Jabbari in New York’s Southern District, she has made claims of assault, defamation, and battery against the Marvel star. According to documents obtained by Rolling Stone, Jabbari detailed instances of abuse that allegedly occurred during their two-year relationship from August 2021 to early 2023. One particularly brutal fight mentioned in the lawsuit took place on Sept. 20, 2022, where Jabbari claimed she suffered a head injury after Majors became physically aggressive following her night out with a friend.
The documents from the lawsuit describe how Majors forcefully threw Jabbari on the hood of a car and proceeded to place her in a headlock, covering her mouth to prevent her from calling for help. Jabbari further alleges that Majors brought her inside their home and repeatedly hit her head against the marble floor while strangling her until she felt she could no longer breathe. Additionally, it is stated that Majors threatened to kill Jabbari and left her with a head injury and a bruise on her backside. Despite her injuries, Jabbari agreed not to seek medical help out of fear and sent a text to Majors promising not to mention him if she went to the doctor.
This recent lawsuit comes in the wake of a previous legal case where Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment involving Jabbari in December 2023. In March 2023, Majors was arrested in NYC for choking Jabbari during a domestic dispute, which resulted in her being treated for minor head and neck injuries at the hospital. During the trial, Jabbari testified about Majors’ violent behavior but did not mention the September 2022 incident as it focused solely on his arrest at the time.
Majors’ Response
In a statement following his guilty verdict, Majors expressed shock and fear at the outcome of the trial. He mentioned feeling confused and emphasized the difficulty of the situation. Despite the challenges he faced, Majors stated that he was surrounded by people who love and care for him. He also revealed that he is currently in a relationship with actress Meagan Good, whom he has been dating since May 2023. Majors was originally scheduled to appear in court for sentencing in February, but the date was postponed to April as his legal team works to overturn the verdict.
