Jerry O’Connell, the renowned television host, has made his strong disapproval of John Stamos’ memoir abundantly clear. In a recent interview with TMZ, O’Connell expressed his concern about the stories involving his wife, Rebecca Romijn, which were included in Stamos’ October memoir, titled “If You Would Have Told Me.” He described these accounts as “a little scary,” suggesting that they left him unsettled.
O’Connell sarcastically remarked, “People gotta make a living I guess,” insinuating that Stamos included these stories in his memoir purely for financial gain. While speaking to one of the outlet’s reporters in New York City, O’Connell dismissed the inclusion of personal experiences as a natural occurrence, emphasizing the importance of giving prior notice to those involved.
This isn’t the first time O’Connell has voiced his disapproval of Stamos. Previously, O’Connell criticized the “Full House” alum for allegedly failing to inform Romijn about her inclusion in his memoir. Stamos had accused Romijn of infidelity in the book, describing the feeling of betrayal as a sinking sensation in one’s stomach before ultimately uncovering the truth. However, O’Connell’s reaction to Stamos’ allegations remains succinct: “There’s nothing more to say.”
During his book promotion, Stamos openly admitted to hating Romijn during their divorce, describing her as a “devil.” While speaking with Howard Stern, Stamos also expressed feeling emasculated during their marriage due to Romijn’s flourishing career. He acknowledged his love for her and her exceptional talent but admitted that his own pursuits seemed to take a backseat. Stamos theorized that Romijn had outgrown him and attributed this as a factor in their eventual separation.
Rebecca Romijn, who shares 14-year-old twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, with O’Connell, has chosen not to comment on Stamos’ memoir out of respect for their children. A confidential source disclosed to Page Six that Romijn refrained from engaging with Stamos’ writing in an effort to provide him with neither attention nor additional book sales.
In November, O’Connell revealed that he had not read Stamos’ memoir and had no intention of doing so. While speaking on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show, O’Connell mentioned that there initially was some curiosity surrounding the book in his household. However, after listening to Stamos’ interview on “The Howard Stern Show” in its entirety, any interest in reading the memoir vanished.
Rebecca Romijn remarried O’Connell in 2007. As for Stamos, he tied the knot with model Caitlin McHugh in February 2018, and the couple welcomed their son, Billy, into the world just two months later.
