Prince Edward’s Travels

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Edinburgh stayed in the United Kingdom during Prince Edward’s absence. However, she is now set to travel to Colombia from November 28th to December 1st. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has requested her presence to support the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda (WPS) and continue her advocacy for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence and the rights of women and girls.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s reunion will be brief, considering the Duchess’s upcoming trip to Colombia. However, the short-lived reunion provides them with a valuable opportunity to reconnect and strengthen their bond. After being apart for two weeks, they can enjoy each other’s company and share their experiences from their respective engagements.
On Prince Edward’s 59th birthday in March 2023, he was made the Duke of Edinburgh by the King. This decision was in line with Prince Philip’s wish for his youngest son to inherit his title. However, the choice ultimately rested with Prince Charles as the future King. Despite this appointment, the dukedom will not pass down to Prince Edward’s son James when he eventually passes away.
