Lady Marina comes from a distinguished lineage as the eldest daughter of the Earl and Countess of St Andrews, making her a first cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth II. She is also the paternal granddaughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent. Marina was once 25th in line to the British throne until 2008 when she was removed from the line of succession after joining the Roman Catholic Church.
