Former wrestling star 2 Cold Scorpio, whose real name is Charles Scaggs, was arrested on June 15 for stabbing a man during a gas station fight at a Love’s Travel Stop in Kansas City, Missouri. According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Scaggs claimed he was acting in self-defense after the man threatened him and tried to grapple with him outside the store.
Scaggs, who was working as a security guard at the store, approached the man who had reportedly lit a cigarette inside the establishment. He informed the man that smoking was not allowed inside, to which the man responded aggressively. The altercation escalated, leading to a physical confrontation between the two.
During the scuffle, Scaggs pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the man multiple times in self-defense. The man sustained injuries to his head, chest, buttocks, legs, and abdomen and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite the severity of the incident, Scaggs maintained that he was defending himself against the aggressive actions of the other individual.
Legal Consequences
Following the altercation, Scaggs was arrested and faced two felony charges – first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Despite pleading not guilty to the charges after bonding out, he is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing next month. Investigators were able to speak with the victim at the medical facility, where he identified Scaggs as the aggressor in the situation, leading to his arrest and charges.
Scaggs, known in the wrestling world as 2 Cold Scorpio, began his career in 1985 and went on to compete for various promotions, including the WWE. Along with his wrestling persona, he also performed under the stage name “Flash Funk” and held multiple championship titles throughout his career.
The incident involving 2 Cold Scorpio’s arrest for stabbing highlights the complexities of self-defense and the legal consequences that can result from such actions. Despite his claims of acting in self-defense, the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim led to felony charges being filed against Scaggs.
