Stacey Solomon, known for her stylish home interiors and DIY projects, surprised her fans with a recent home renovation project showcased in a new Instagram video. The much-loved TV star, also the host of Stacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue, revealed her newly updated kitchen painted entirely black, breaking away from her usual neutral color scheme.
In the video, Stacey unveiled her transformed kitchen, split into two halves. The first half featured a long kitchen island with warm wooden stools and cabinetry housing an eye-level double oven. The second half showcased a dining area with black cabinetry, a farmhouse sink, and a scalloped jute rug adding brightness to the space. Stacey explained her bold choice, stating, “The kitchen is now black. I just went for it! It is the [expletive] it year after all. So here she is. Let me know what you think! Or don’t if you hate it.”
Contrary to her initial concerns about the black color scheme being harsh and dark, Stacey expressed her surprise at how painting the kitchen black actually made it feel cosier and prettier. She admitted, “I was worried it might be harsh and dark but it feels so much more homely and actually feels brighter! I loved the white but omg this is special! So glad I just went for it!”
Stacey resides in ‘Pickle Cottage’ in Essex with her husband Joe Swash, their five children, and Joe’s son from a previous relationship. The family purchased the traditional countryside home with 2.5 acres of land in 2021, adding a swimming pool to the property. Alongside their children, Stacey and Joe share their home with their pets, a Cocker Spaniel and a Dachshund, creating a warm and inviting family environment.
Throughout ‘Pickle Cottage’, Stacey has curated a serene and calming atmosphere. Her bedroom, decorated in a beige and cream aesthetic, exudes relaxation with vintage accents. The bathroom follows a similar color scheme, featuring a freestanding rolltop bath positioned by a window overlooking the garden. While Stacey takes charge of the home decor, Joe has his own ‘Daddy Den,’ a vibrant blue games room equipped with a pool table, TV, and cozy seating.
From Rex’s monochromatic bedroom adorned with panda bears to Stacey’s quirky ‘blue loo’ renovation in the downstairs bathroom, each space in ‘Pickle Cottage’ reflects the family’s personality and design preferences. Stacey’s fearless approach to home styling and willingness to experiment with bold color choices have transformed their living spaces into unique and inviting areas for the entire family to enjoy.
