Mark Consuelos mistaken for Regis Philbin at Knicks game

Mark Consuelos, known for his role on “Riverdale”, recently had a fun night out at a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. During the taping of “Live With Kelly and Mark,” his wife and co-host Kelly Ripa shared a funny incident that occurred during the game.

While at the owner’s lounge, a woman mistook Consuelos for the late TV host Regis Philbin. Despite his attempts to correct her, the woman insisted that he was Regis. Consuelos, sitting courtside alongside Tracy Morgan and Chris Rock, found humor in the situation, noting that the woman even commented on his muscular physique.

Despite the mix-up, the woman revealed that she watched their show every morning, prompting Consuelos to give her a quick shout-out on camera. This moment added a light-hearted touch to the evening and showed Consuelos’ easygoing nature.

Regis Philbin, who passed away in 2020, was a beloved TV host who started hosting the popular talk show with Kathie Lee Gifford in 1988. After Gifford’s departure in 2000, Kelly Ripa joined Philbin as his co-host until his retirement in 2011.

Following Philbin’s retirement, “Live!” saw a few hosting changes before Consuelos officially took over alongside Ripa in 2023. Despite initial skepticism from fans, the couple quickly found their stride and boosted the show’s ratings.

On the show, Ripa and Consuelos often joke about their personal lives, including their marriage and sex life. These candid moments have endeared them to viewers and added a relatable element to the show. Recently, Ripa shared a humorous story about Consuelos’ loud snoring, which kept her up all night.

Ripa and Consuelos first met on the set of “All My Children” in 1995 and got married one year later. Their on-screen chemistry translates seamlessly to their real-life relationship, making them a beloved couple in the entertainment industry.

Mark Consuelos’ lighthearted interaction at the Knicks game, along with his successful stint on “Live!,” showcases his charisma and charm both on and off the screen. His dynamic with Kelly Ripa and their ability to connect with audiences have solidified their place as a popular hosting duo in daytime television.
