Instead, he released a four-minute video on X, informing his followers that he is suspending his campaign just two days before the New Hampshire primaries. In an unexpected move, DeSantis also announced that he is endorsing former President Donald Trump.
Conservative Positions and Strategic Alignment
DeSantis began his video by reiterating his conservative stances on issues such as border security, social decay in cities, and ideological indoctrination of children. He acknowledged that his team prayed after their defeat in Iowa, where Trump overwhelmingly secured more than double the votes of DeSantis. Ultimately, they came to the realization that there was no feasible path to victory for their campaign.
Regarding his endorsement of Trump, DeSantis admitted that he has disagreed with the former president in the past. However, he emphasized the importance of standing united for the sake of the party. DeSantis essentially argued that another four years with Joe Biden in the White House is unacceptable. Aligning oneself with the frontrunner is nothing new in politics—it’s just part of the game.

Not only did she finish a distant third in Iowa, far behind Trump in the polls, but she also clashed with DeSantis in the final Republican debate. Their exchange grew heated, with DeSantis accusing Haley of being more interested in catering to her financial backers than in genuine political ideals. In turn, Haley directly called DeSantis a liar. It was quite intense.
