Comedian Connor Wood Talks About His Rise to Fame and Exciting Celebrity Encounters

Comedian and TikTok star Connor Wood recently found himself in a whirlwind of emotions when his phone started buzzing incessantly with messages. He feared the worst, thinking that someone in his family had passed away. To his relief, it turned out that the messages were flooding in because Dua Lipa had shared one of his tweets on her Instagram. Wood couldn’t believe it. He told Page Six, “I woke up thinking I had like a death in the family. I was like phew, no, you’re just on Dua Lipa’s Instagram! That was all time.”

Wood rose to fame in 2020 as @fibulaa on TikTok, amassing nearly 800,000 followers. In one of his tweets, he had expressed his desire to be included in one of Dua Lipa’s famous photo dumps. Little did he know that his manifestation would come true. “I think meeting Dua Lipa would give me powers like Spiderman,” he joked. Wood had even messaged the pop star before she shared his tweet, so the online interaction felt all the more surreal.

Since gaining popularity and making a name for himself in the comedy world, Wood has had numerous memorable encounters with celebrities. He recently FaceTimed with Reneé Rapp, who extended an invitation to a party in Los Angeles. Although he couldn’t make it, Wood couldn’t contain his excitement, saying, “I f–king love her. She’s sweeping, and I’m just like pinching myself about how this all unfolded.”

Wood has also formed friendships with actors from the hit show “Outer Banks,” including Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, and Alexandra Daddario. He admits that it still feels surreal to him, saying, “There’s a lot of stuff that’s become very, very like cavalier, and I have to act like it’s really normal. I keep getting invited back to stuff, but like it’s not, I’m like, I shouldn’t be in a room with Alexandra Daddario.”

Hannah Berner, a former star of “Summer House” turned national touring comedian, reached out to Wood to discuss the similarities in their rise to fame. Both transitioned from creating viral social media clips to selling out theaters. Wood finds it incredible to connect with fellow comedians and share their experiences in navigating the world of entertainment.

Exciting things are on the horizon for Wood. He is preparing to embark on his first-ever comedy tour called “Fibs & Friends.” The tour will take him to 11 cities across the country, where he plans to meet and make fun of his fans’ beautiful faces. Wood is thrilled to bring along some of his funniest friends to join him on stage and discuss all things life, love, and comedy. He expressed his excitement, saying, “Touring has been a dream of mine since the beginning, and it feels surreal to announce my first 11 cities (with more to come!)”
